I'm thankful for good friends that brighten my days, for my sweet family that gives me a connection to life and mostly for my precious daughter that through the years has been the most wonderful part of my world!! I thank God for all His love, mercy, goodness and provisions...without Him, I am nothing! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! God Bless!!

Then got home in time to unpack, and repack for a trip to Oklahoma to visit family for my birthday! Getting up at 3:00am to get ready and drive to Raleigh to catch a plane....TOO EARLY!! :-) Had a good time with family then back home! Back to work and ready to get back to card making! Got to get the creativity flowing again!! September 17: Went to a baby shower today! A little girl is on the way! All the cute cute cute PINK stuff was too sweet! Babies bring hope! August 28th

Well....another challenge! I decided to use the tri-fold card base. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the grass on front & oval for the 2nd section, Create a Critter for the sprigs of grass in front & Monkey with vine on the last section. Stamped the palm tree with monkey on the long panel and colored with Bic markers and colored pencils. Then used brown flock for the coconuts and the vine with the monkey. Fun card....great for the little boys in our lives!

Going for my second challenge with Cricut Cardz Challenge. Used Simply Charmed to make school items for a card for a special little girl in our family in Oklahoma!! She started 1st grade this week! I added a couple of things for the challenge and here we go! I just love to watch Mary at CardzTV, she does such beautiful cards and is so humble and Godly!!! A wonderful example! Good luck to all who enter!!!

Well, about time I got back to this blog! Haven't had too much to write about...guess I live a boring life! I have 2 little Great-Great-Nieces in Oklahoma that have some special things going on. One started 1st Grade and the other turns 4 this week! We put together a little 'care package' for them and I made a card for each. If plans work out I might get to see them next month!! YAY!!! July 31st

Our sweet friend, Pammy, turned 50 today. We wanted to make her day special so I (R) and my daughter (B) created cards and packages just for her special day! First I'll post pictures from B...she did a beautiful job of creating a 'cake' with the assembly of the packages.....she found items for Pam's desk at work,,,a shoe tape dispenser and a purse pop up sticky note holder....Pam LOVED them!

See....BEAUTIFUL!!! She went for the "vintage" look!!

I wanted to try some new things.....had seen a tri-fold card, so I made one for her dogs...Sophie & Tucker to give to her.  Used Paisley Cricut cartridge for the dogs...then Sweet Treats for the Ruff Ruff and bones......I liked the way it turned out!  Two more views:

Lastly is the card and matching bag I made for her gift from me....Betty Boop PJ's and a DVD of old cartoons we watched as kids!!  And some candy...she LOVES candy!!!

I saw a YouTube video using aluminum foil with Cuttlebug embossing folders...thought the 'aged' look would be fun to use for her 50th birthday!!  We had fun, shared lots of laughing and a good time!! AND I took her a carrot cake with candles ( 5 0 ) for the top!!  YUM...it was GOOD!   I'm so lucky to have a good friend to talk to, share laughs and confide with my hurts or frustrations in life!
Thank you, God, for filling my life with good friends!!!

Garden Fresh Veggies!!

A really sweet lady I work with has shared some of their fresh veggies from their garden....YUM!  Fresh Silver Queen Corn, big juicy tomatoes and good 'ole cucumbers!  A feast by themselves!  I wanted to show her how much we appreciated it, so I made this card for her and her husband.  They are such dear people!  I'm so glad I met her!!  I hope they know how precious they are...the card was fun to make!

My friend's Birthday

Have a wonderful friend since collage....too many years ago to count!  She ALWAYS remembers to send me a birthday card each year, and I always forget to send one to her!  I'm trying to do better!!  I made her a special card for her birthday.  I hope she likes it.  I am so blessed to have her as a friend!  Below is a picture of her card....the FIRST Easel card I've tried to make!  The lighting isn't so great, but you get the idea!  Love this friend!!  Hope her day is as special as she is!!

July 21st

My Daughter's Birthday!  What a special day!  We try to do something special every year when we get a chance and THIS year (call us crazy...BUT) we decided to drive nearly 4 hours to go on a 2 hour sunset cruise on Cape Fear River!  It was HOT as blazes out, but we braved the heat...got in the car and drove to the shore!  We just barely got there in time to find the right dock, get our tickets and get on the boat (a catamarran).  Mind you....I am VERY afraid of water, but for her I will about try anything!  We have been through so much heartache and had to learn to stand on our own...ALONE, so this was a wonderful journey!  Anyway...it was neat....still pretty hot but we had a good time!  They had a guy playing guitar and singing on the cruise, he sang "Happy Birthday" to her, along with the other passengers....her 'cake' was a couple of Twix bars that melted in a matter of minutes it was so hot!  We got off the boat at 9:00pm...walked down the boardwalk to an outside cafe and ate......hadn't had anything since breakfast!!! Then back to the car, and headed home...got back nearly 2:00am!!  WHEW!  What a day! Below is a picture of the card I made her....she LOVED it...in fact it was the inspiration for the day!!  I thank God for her, for the experience of the day and our safety in traveling!!

July 16th

A wedding to go to today.  How neat to see God bring two people together in His own special way.  I hope this day is the beginning of all their dreams becoming a reality.  It is so sweet to see 50+ year olds find love again and want to share their lives as partners, lovers and friends.  Oh, Lord bless these two of Your children and give them a long loving life together.
Here are pictures of the card made from their invitation.....love how it turned out!
